Sexual Health Scorecard

Request

Please could you send me the Sexual Health Performance Scorecard for the SHA, with the full breakdown of scores in each of the indicator areas, available for the last three years - or as far back as the scores are available.

Our response

I refer to your email requesting the Sexual Health Performance Scorecard for NHS East Midlands for the last three years.

I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 that NHS East Midlands does not hold a specific sexual health scorecard.  However, we do report on individual Primary Care Trust (PCT) performance regarding genito-urinary medicine clinics (GUM) and Chlamydia Screening Coverage within our board performance reports.  These reports are available on our website and I have attached a link to the most recent report for your information:-

http://www.eastmidlands.nhs.uk/sys_upl/templates/AssetBrowser/AssetBrowser_disp.asp?ItemID=3144&basketPage=&basketItem=&CategoryID=231&pgid=5881&tid=165&page=1

You can find all of our board reports/papers via the following link:-

http://www.eastmidlands.nhs.uk/sys_upl/templates/AssetBrowser/AssetBrowser_disp.asp?CategoryID=146&basketPage=&basketItem=&pgid=5881&tid=165&noCache=843_805

The indicators reported within the board reports are:-

·                    % Patients offered a GUM appointment within 48hrs

·                    % Chlamydia Screening Coverage

Should you require further information from PCTs within the East Midlands, you can contact them as follows:-

http://www.eastmidlands.nhs.uk/the-local-nhs/nhs-organisations

The Health Protection Agency also collect information on Chlamydia Screening and other sexually transmitted diseases which is accessible via their website:-

http://www.hpa.org.uk/

In addition the Department of Health publish national GUM data on both a Commissioner and Provider basis, again via the following link:-

http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsandstatistics/Statistics/Performancedataandstatistics/SexualHealth/index.htm

I do hope that this information is of use to you.  However, please note that if you are dissatisfied with the way in which we have dealt with your request you can complain in writing to:-
