Process and Improvement Systems

Request

I am interested in knowing who and how the Trust improves its processes and systems? Is it via in-house staff or is it contracted out to consultants, etc., if so who are those companies the work is contracted out to, please & thank you?

Our response

Thank you for your request for information.  Please note that before we can formally log your request and provide you with the relevant information, we will require further clarification from you.

I should point out that NHS East Midlands is not a trust - we are a Strategic Health Authority (SHA).  Our role is to lead and manage the health system to deliver the maximum possible health gain, the best services for patients and good value for taxpayers’ money.  We ensure that an appropriate range of continuously developing services is commissioned across the region, and that there is co-ordination and coherence across all commissioning plans, especially for more specialised services.

Could you therefore be more specific around the 'processes and systems' that you mention below.  Do you mean our outward facing processes and systems?  We have a Director of Strategy & System Development part of whose remit is to ensure that external facing business processes are fair and transparent and developed to drive up service quality.

Perhaps you mean internal SHA processes and systems - in which case could you specify which ones? (eg finance, HR etc).

You might also want to look at our FOI disclosure log.  We have answered previous requests concerning Consultancy use, one of which you will find via the following link:-

Once I have received further clarification from you I will be able to log your request and provide you with the statutory deadline for the response.
