Request
I am currently writing a dissertation for my Masters degree in Management Studies. My thesis is based on the marketing within the NHS and how it was affected by the recession. I was wondering if you could help me by providing me answers to the following questions please :
1) What marketing campaigns are you currently running?
2) How much is the total budget for these campaigns?
3) What is your total marketing budget?
4) What is your budget in the marketing department in terms of employees, etc?
5 ) What marketing strategies have you had to cut back on in the past year?
Can I have the answers to these questions from the last 5 financial years please?
Our Response
I refer to your email requesting information in respect of marketing within the NHS.
I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 that we do hold some of the information that you have requested in terms of campaigns since the establishment of NHS East Midlands in July 2006 . I will address each of your points in turn:-
1) What marketing campaigns are you currently running?
-
NHS East Midlands is not currently running any campaigns. In the last three years we have developed campaigns for infection control and same-sex accommodation but these, and the materials – posters, leaflets etc - are now with local NHS organisations to run and own. NHS East Midlands will be launching phase 2 of the same-sex accommodation campaign in November 2009 and year 3 of the infection control campaign January 2010. Both these campaigns are aimed at patients and public. We are also developing a campaign on Information Governance aimed at NHS staff in the East Midlands which will launch November 2009.
2) How much is the total budget for these campaigns?
-
Infection control year 3 = £250,000
-
Same-sex accommodation phase 1 = £200,000
-
Same-sex accommodation phase 2 = £200,000
-
Information governance = £65,000
3) What is your total marketing budget?
4) What is your budget in the marketing department in terms of employees, etc?
