I refer to your email of 2 July requesting information in respect of NHS East Midlands Union membership.
I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do not hold all of the information that you have requested.
I can confirm that there are 240 members of staff employed by NHS East Midlands who would be able to join UNISON. This figure excludes doctors.
NHS East Midlands does not collect data in respect of staff trade union membership. Membership of a union is a matter for individual decision and employees can join or not join any trade union they wish. We are therefore unable to advise you of the total number of employees in a union other than UNISON.
