Our Response

I refer to your email requesting mental health statistical information.

I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do not hold the information that you have requested.

However, Section 16 of the FOIA places a duty on us to provide help and assistance where necessary.

Some of the information concerning the number of patients in high and medium secure care will be held by the East Midlands Specialised Commissioning Group (EMSCG) http://www.emscg.nhs.uk/.

However EMSCG will not hold all of the information concerning low secure commissioning because, for example, in 2005 the Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) were individually responsible for that commissioning.  EMSCG did not start commissioning low secure services until April 2008.

Some of the information about schools will be held by Local Authorities and the following link to our website will enable you to contact these organisations separately http://www.eastmidlands.nhs.uk/partners/.

Information concerning mental health budgets will be held by PCTs who you can also contact via the following link to our website  http://www.eastmidlands.nhs.uk/the-local-nhs/nhs-organisations/

I hope that this information is of use.  If you are dissatisfied with the way in which we have dealt with your request you can ask us to review our decision by writing to:-
