Request
In your area how many patients have been admitted to hospitals through Accident and Emergency Departments with a primary or secondary diagnosis which is alcohol related for the twelve month period to April 2008, April 2009 and April 2010? How many of these have been children?
If possible could you also break the data down by individual hospital Trust.
Our Response
I refer to your email of 6 May requesting information in respect alcohol related admittance to hospital via Accident and Emergency.
I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do not hold the information that you have requested.
However, Section 16 of the FOIA places a duty on us to provide help and assistance where necessary. I have therefore attached a link through to the Local Alcohol Profiles For England (LAPE) website which shows alcohol related admissions, although not admittance, through Accident and Emergency.
