Under the Freedom of Information act 2000, please provide:-
Full details of the number of people who a) entered and b) left NHS hospitals in your area with a diagnosis of malnutrition in each years since 2005.
Full details of the number of people who died in NHS hospitals as a result of (a) dehydration and (b) starvation in each year since 2005.
Our Response
I refer to your two emails requesting information in respect of malnutrition, dehydration and starvation.
I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do not hold any of the information that you have requested in either of your requests.
However, Section 16 of the FOIA places a duty on us to provide help and assistance where necessary. I am able to advise you that the data you require from 1998, can be accessed via the following link which provides the national admissions data:-
