Please find below a Freedom of Information Act request regarding Government Procurement Cards.
1. Please could you provide the total number of Government Procument Cards currently in use in your organisation?
2. Please could you provide a breakdown of each transaction made by your institution on the Government Procurement Card (GPC), including the supplier, date and value of the transaction, in the last financial year for which figures are available.
Disclosure is in the public interest since:
- it will bring to light information on the spending of taxpayers' money.
- there is significant public scrutiny at present on expenditure by the NHS.
- it is consistent with the government's new transparency regime.
I note the GPC service provides "Clear and concise audit trails" and "Regular availability of high quality management information which your purchasing staff can analyse" (http://www.ogc.gov.uk/tools___services_government_procurement_card_4732.asp)
I wish to receive the information electronically. Please contact me if the request needs to be narrowed to bring it in under the fees limit.

I refer to your email requesting information in respect of Government Procurement Cards .
I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do not hold the information that you have requested. I should point out that NHS East Midlands does not hold or use any kind of Government Procurement Card.
