Request
To the Deanery FOI team,
Please could you provide the following information regarding GP training under Freedom of Information.
1. The amount of money allocated to GP training budgets for 2011/12
2. The number of GP registrar posts for 2011/12
Our Response
I refer to your email requesting information in respect of the amount of money allocated to GP training budgets for 2011/12 and the number of GP registrar posts for 2011/12.
I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do not hold all of the information that you have requested.
However, I am able to advise you that GP specialty training will take place over three years in a mixture of hospital and primary care settings. The number of GP registrar posts for 2011/12 (from August 2011) in primary care settings is planned to be 380. There will be 315 posts in hospital settings giving a total of 637 posts (not trainees).
In terms of recruitment to the first year of training, we are looking to recruit to 232 posts for 2011/12.
The East Midlands Workforce Healthcare Deanery budget for 2011/12 is still being negotiated and will be agreed in due course. We therefore do not hold this information at this point in time.
I hope that this information is of use. If you are dissatisfied with the way in which we have dealt with your request you can ask us to review our decision by writing to:-
