East Midlands Deanery

I'd like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to East Midlands deanery, and understand that East Midlands SHA handles these requests on behalf of the deanery.  I would like to know the following information regarding staff numbers at East Midlands deanery, broken down by school if possible (ie. Primary care, secondary care and foundation school):

1) The number of staff working in the deanery as of 20 December 2010 or closest possible date

2) The number of staff working in the deanery as of 20 July 2011 or closest possible date

3) The number of compulsory redundancies at the deanery between 20 December 2010 and 20 July 2011

4) The cost of any compulsory redundancy settlements during this period

5) The number of voluntary resignations between 20 December 2010 and 20 July 2011, including the number who used the Mutually Agreed Resignation Scheme

6) The cost of any voluntary resignation settlements during this period, and the cost specifically of the Mutually Agreed Resignation Scheme

7) The number of posts vacant at the deanery as of 20 July 2011

8) How many staff comprises full staff capacity at the deanery

9) The proportion of full staff capacity the deanery is operating on as of 20 July 2011

Our Response

I refer to your email requesting information in respect of the East Midlands Healthcare Workforce Deanery.

I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do hold the information that you have requested.  I will address each of your questions in turn,

Number of staff working in the Deanery as of 31 December 2010

  • 103.82 full time equivalent (FTE)  against agreed establishment of 115.83 FTE

Number of staff working in the Deanery as of 31 July 2011

  • 104.33 (FTE) against agreed establishment of 115.83 FTE

The number of compulsory redundancies in the Deanery between 20 December and 20 July 2011

  • Zero

The cost of any compulsory redundancies settlements during this period

  • Zero

The number of voluntary resignations between 20 December and 20 July, including those who used the Mutually agreed resignation scheme

  • 9 including 5 via our Mutually Agreed Resignation Scheme (MARS)

The cost of any voluntary resignation settlements during this period, and the cost specifically of the mutually agreed resignation scheme

  • £72,118.26

The number of posts vacant as of 31 July 2011

  • 11.5 FTE (variance between establishment and in post) these posts have integrated into our new structure and as of 1 August all our established posts are covered.

How many staff comprises full staff capacity in the Deanery

  • 115.83 FTE, this is our agreed establishment as of 31 December and 31 July. With effect from 1 August the Deanery establishment figure reduced to 93, we therefore have a number of supernumerary posts to support the transition to a new structure, which will reduce over the coming months. No redundancies costs are expected as these posts are occupied on a temporary basis.’
