I would like to request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Could you please provide me with an up-to-date list detailing the number of people in the East Midlands that are on the NHS Organ Donors register.
I would also like to know how many people have received donated organs in this region over the past five years.
Our Response
I refer to your email of 1 November 2011 requesting information in respect of the number of people on the organ donor register.
I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do not hold the information that you have requested.
However, Section 16 of the FOIA places a duty upon us to provide as much assistance as possible. I am advised that the information that you require should be held by NHS Blood and Transplant, who can be contacted via the following link:
