Director Posts and Use of Application Software

Request

Following widespread restructuring in NHS I would like to know the name and email address of the senior officer currently in the following roles at your organisation:-

a)      Finance (e.g. Finance Director)

b)      Human Resources (e.g. Head of Human Resources)

c)       Information Technology (e.g. IT Director)

d)      Performance Management (e.g. Performance Manager)

If the organisation has entered into Shared Service with another NHS body, can you please let me know the name of that organisation and which officer from either organisation now leads the above functions. 

Additionally, in relation to the use of application software in your organisation I would like to know the name of the Vendor and application name for the following systems:-

a)      Finance General Ledger (e.g. Oracle Financials, Agresso)

b)      Planning/Budgeting (e.g. Excel, SPSS, component of Ledger system)

c)       Human Resources (Personnel/payroll e.g. iTrent, Resourcelink, HR-Pro)

d)      Performance management (e.g. Covalent, Corvu, Inphase. This software has typically recorded your National, Local and Partnership Indicators)

e)      The Corporate Business Intelligence reporting tool (e.g. Cognos, Crystal, Business Objects)

I would prefer a reply by email and an acknowledgement of receipt of this request.

Our response

I refer to your email requesting information in respect of Director posts and use of application software within NHS Midlands and East (East Midlands Office).

I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do not hold all of the information that you have requested.  However, I will address each of your queries in turn:

a)    Finance (e.g. Finance Director)

b)   Human Resources (e.g. Head of Human Resources)

c)    Information Technology (e.g. IT Director)

d)   Performance Management (e.g. Performance Manager)

  • DHIS (local NHS IT provider).  See answer at (c) above.

  • SBS.  See answers at (a) above and below.

a)    Finance General Ledger (e.g. Oracle Financials, Agresso)

  • None used in-house.  SBS, our shared service provider, use Oracle Financials

b)   Planning/Budgeting (e.g. Excel, SPSS, component of Ledger system)

  • Excel as part of the Microsoft Office package.

c)    Human Resources (Personnel/payroll e.g. iTrent, Resourcelink, HR-Pro)

  • The integrated HR/Payroll system is the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system, which is supplied by McKesson (as it is to the majority of other NHS organisations).

d)   Performance management (e.g. Covalent, Corvu, Inphase. This software has typically recorded your National, Local and Partnership Indicators)

  • We do not use any specific performance management software.

e)    The Corporate Business Intelligence reporting tool (e.g. Cognos, Crystal, Business Objects)

  • We do not use any specific business reporting tools in respect of our Corporate Affairs function.
