Hospital Readmission

Request

This is a request under the freedom of information act.

All strategic health authorities should recently have completed a collection of information from all primary care trusts for a Department of Health “stock take”, to analyse the impact of new rules requiring non-payment for emergency readmissions following elective admissions. These new rules were introduced in the 2011-12 NHS operating framework. I understand the data collected included information on readmissions activity, the amount of money PCTs will “save” on emergency readmissions spending, and how they are spending/intend to spend that money (the rules require that it is spent in-year on new investment to help prevent readmissions.

I would like to see the full responses provided to your SHA by each primary care trust in your region in response to this stocktake/data collection. I would like to receive the information in electronic format to this email address. If the SHA has collected some or all of the information provided into a single spreadsheet, I would also like to see that.

Please email to confirm you have received this request.

Please contact me at the earliest opportunity if there is any ambiguity about this request, or anything you need to discuss to help you answer this request completely within the statutory 20 day deadline.
