More than 100 nominations were received from patients across the five counties of the East Midlands for the Outstanding Health Care awards to thank NHS staff who have gone the extra mile to help them.
NHS East Midlands launched the awards to give local people the chance to say thank you to the NHS staff who changed their life.
All nominations were considered by a judging panel to determine a winner for each county area within the East Midlands. Each county winner has been invited to the Health and Social Care Awards and learning event on 21 May where an overall region-wide winner will be announced.
Each county winner will receive £500 and the overall regional winner will win a further £1,000 to be spent on the service, its environment or training and development.
Dame Catherine Elcoat, Director of Patient Care at NHS East Midlands said: “I would like to congratulate the winning teams and individuals from our Outstanding Care Award scheme who were nominated by the public for the difference they have made to their lives. All the nominations were a reminder of the fantastic care the NHS provides on a daily basis to thousands of patients. Thank you to you all for your outstanding work and for going that extra mile to provide excellent patient care.”
